I created this blog – nomadul.ro – first of all to remind myself, years from now, of the things I used to do. Of how I used to think, what I loved and where I travelled. And then to see, over time, how many of my plans actually came true. So far I have travelled to 49 countries, but my wish is to see all of them, or as many as possible.
What does Nomad mean?
According to the dictionary definition, a nomad “is a person who has no permanent home, who moves from one place to another, who wanders“. The last part, who wanders, is the one that describes me best, and because I am passionate about travel and photography, among other things, I have set out to wander around the world in the near future.
Nomadul (the Nomad) will be my new nickname on social media, and this will be the blog where I tell you what I have seen, where I have been and what I am planning to see, experience and live next…
What do I want to do?
I really want to drive to Mongolia, and not only there. I took the idea of longer journeys from Mihai Barbul, the author of the books Vând Kilometri and DUSÎNTORS, books I recommend you read as well.
Around 2008 Mihai rode to Mongolia on his motorbike, Doyle, covering 26,000 km and crossing 13 countries – impressive, right? I would love to retrace Mihai’s route by car, because Doyle and I are not exactly friends. The problem is that, with the war between Ukraine and Russia, I would either have to change the route a little or postpone it and maybe start with a trip around Europe.
Until I decide which way to go, I need to buy a car, pay off my debts and make a small plan – I wouldn’t want to go to Mongolia the way you’d walk into an exam at the Polytechnic.
Enjoying Nomadul?
Nomadul is a personal project with no sponsors. If you’d like to help me drive all the way to Mongolia, you can support it with a follow, a share or a small contribution.
